Historically, Aceh was once a country in the form of a kingdom and had great influence in the archipelago and Southeast Asia. The peak of its splendor and glory was seen during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda (1607-1636). There are several things that make the Aceh kingdom famous and have always been the subject of research for centuries, including a fair leadership system, a neat government structure, and a strong combination of customs and Islamic law. This research focuses on studying the family legal order that prevailed in Aceh, especially during the era of the Aceh Darussalam kingdom. From this research, it was found that there is a unique combination of dualism that exists between Islamic law and customary law in resolving problems in the field of family law. Moreover, especially during the reign of Queen Safyatuddin, the role of women in the legal field, especially family law, was very profitable and raised their status. women become more humane and dignified.
