Abstract

This research leads to how the application of semiotic structuralism in a literary work. In this case, the researcher took data from a short story entitled "The Eagle Bird" by Ghassan Kanafani. The short story contains the story of a Bedouins who are guards in a building in Palestine. In the short story It is said that one of the Bedouins actually has no intention of working in building. It is suspected that the person just wanted to escape from his tribe. As for The problem in this study is that there are several texts that have meanings that can analyzed using semiotic structuralism. In this case, the researcher uses the theory of Tzvetan Todorov's semiotic structuralism. This research is classified as literature research (library research) is to find and study the necessary sources from literature whose data sources are taken from books, journals, articles, and so on.
