ABSTRAK
The objectives of this study are: 1) to determine the effectiveness of the use of the story method in improving listening skills. 2) Difficulties in using the story method in teaching Arabic to improve listening skills. The researcher uses an experimental research method (one group) with a quantitative approach. This study used one experimental group. Tests, observations, interviews, and documentation are used to collect data. The results of this study are as follows: 1) The teaching of listening skills using the story method in learning Arabic at the Sabilunnajah Islamic Boarding School Bandung is effective, because the result of the "t" test reaches 3.60, which is greater than the table value at the level of 1.725 with a confidence level of 95%. This shows that the researcher's hypothesis is accepted. 2) As for the difficulty in teaching to improve listening skills, the researcher found differences in the level of understanding between students and asked about what they did not understand at the end of the lesson. Some students feel sleepy during the lesson.
