The purpose of this study is to find out the nahwu mistakes made by grade 1 students at SMP Tahfidzul Quran Aisyiyah Bireuen and to find out the cause of the error. In this study, the author uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method and a data collection method with observation, interviews and documentation. The results of nahwu mistakes made by students consist of 24 errors in the number of ismiyah (in i'rab mubtada' there are 9 errors and in i'rab khabar there are 15 errors). There are 35 errors in the number of fi'liyah (in i'rab fa'il there are 20 errors and in i'rab fa'il there are 15 errors). As well as the errors in i'rab jar majrur there are 45 errors. This problem is caused by students' lack of understanding of the rules of nahwu in writing and the lack of interest of students in learning to master Arabic and lack of continuous practice. The solution to this problem is to teach a strong basic nahwu and develop reading and writing skills.
