Tradisi Ta'zir di Pesantren dalam Perspektif Tindakan Sosial Max Weber

This article was made to find out how the tradition of ta'zir in Islamic boarding schools is related to Max Weber's theory of social action. Moving on from the tradition of ta'zir which is included in social actions. Therefore, the author relates it to Max Weber's theory of social action and to see the essence of ta'zir action through Max Weber's theory of social action. This research uses qualitative research methods and data collection by interview and observation methods. From the results of this study, it can be learned that each follow-up of ta'zir punishment has a different motive or reason for taking action that changes every day. Considering that further enforcement of the law of ta'zir in Islamic boarding schools can be carried out at any time and not only once. So that the difference and uncertainty of this motive is what causes the elasticity and action of ta'zir if it is connected to Max Weber's theory of social action.
